Sanden Totten writes and reports for Brains On! His favorite subjects are obviously dinosaurs and space, but he really enjoys studying the brain and the environment too. You have his permission to sneak up behind him and scream, “Brains On!” if you ever see him in a taqueria. If he’s not playing drums or concocting noises for Brains On!, you might see him in ridiculous, Day-Glo clothing, running around the lakes and rivers of Minnesota or scouring the city in search of the world’s best burrito. He gets a kick out of music, technology, and writing. She was always the shortest one in her class and has worn glasses since the third grade. She likes playing piano, sings in a choir and wishes that people would break into song and dance like they do in the musicals that she loves. Molly loves finding out about the way things work - whether it’s a glass factory or our brains or molecular bonds. Molly Bloom is the host of Brains On! Brains On, the wildly popular podcast for kids, is hitting the road to celebrate their 10th birthday with a hilarious science-themed show that takes the audience on an adventure through our brains. This is an award-winning show where the host investigates those burning questions we have about science, like, “ Can you dig to the center of the earth?” More episodes can be found here. Smash Boom Best is part of a family of podcasts that also includes Brains On. On that same page you will also find downloads for scorecards that can be used during the debates and some other debate resources. Once your students have listened to a debate or two (the episodes are about 35 minutes long), you can use the curriculum provided by Smash Boom Best to help them create their own exciting debates. The “Micro” and “Sneak Attack” rounds add to the fun.
